A Bit About Me

I am Thom Cooney Crawford.

I’m a painter.
I’m a sculptor.
I’m a poet.

I have been working in these three mediums since my teens. My search for deeper meaning brought me to the philosophical, and that led to purposeful world travels, from India to Ireland. What I have been seeking the whole time is a way to create harmony between the phenomenal and the spiritual.

Come share my journey.

…it takes an act of faith to believe in universal values. There are few contemporary artists even willing to search for the common forms that connect us as members of the human race. Thom Cooney Crawford seeks such archetypal symbols.

Art Historian and Critic

The Inner Eye of Art/The Outer Spark.

Thom on Video

A Closer Look at the Artist.

Eye on the Mythic Wind: In a series of conversations with Eric Ziolkowski, Professor of Religion at Lafayette College, Thom speaks to his passion to incorporate symbol and archetype into his art.

Making Easton: Meet the artist in his loft in the days leading up to the opening of his show The Inner Eye of Art/The Outer Spark. After his return from Ireland, Thom lived and worked in solitude for a decade. It isn’t often that an artist who has left the art world returns to it with such fanfare. His paintings and sculptures from this period show a level of development and maturity rarely witnessed. Also included are videos of his artist’s talk and poetry reading.
